Everyone's favorite "Elf, " Zooey Deschanel delights in Thanksgiving, including the culture of preparing treasured trip recipes. To share her enthusiasm for ones national day of offering thanks, Zooey visited Rachael Ray to offer her mother's famous pecan quiche recipe on Nov. 20.
A fan of holiday movies that include "It's a Wonderful Life" as well as "Miracle on 34th Highway, " Zooey singles over the "bathroom scene" within "Elf" as her treasured, " she told Rachael. She's also keen on Christmas music, naming Phil Spector's Christmas album mutually that she sometimes "starts paying attention to in July! " Regularly "really disciplined, " Zooey will rely on a eating habits of "vegetables, fruits, thin meat and nuts, " your lady told Health magazine not long ago. Ingredients for that pie crust:
- 1 tumbler all-purpose flour, plus a lot of for dusting
- A touch of salt
- 1 continue cold, unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

- 1 glass dark Karo syrup
- 3 ova, beaten

Directions: Preheat furnace to 425 F. In the pie crust, using the pastry cutter, combine a flour, salt and butter until it would appear that a coarse meal. Add the ice water a tablespoon at the same time, just enough until the dough all comes together. Form into a drive, wrap tightly in plastic-type material wrap and refrigerate just for 30 minutes. Roll disk out in a 1/4-inch-thick circle, transfer towards pie plate and crimp the edges on the crust. For the stuffing, in a mixing run, thoroughly combine the Karo syrup, ovum, butter, flour, salt, dark brown sugar and vanilla. Fill the crust with pecans towards the top and pour the filling on top of the pecans. Drizzle by using molasses. Bake for 15 min's, then lower the cooktop temperature to 350F and
continue in order to bake for 40 a short time. Serves 8 to 10 consumers.
