Love to have out? Me, too. But given that I've watched celebrity cooker Rocco DiSpirito dish all the dirt to Dr. Ounce on today's show, I'll consider one more time about what I order (and easily dine out... or in). From a good amount of butter (yes, even Paula Deen could be shocked! ) to invisible sugars in pasta, here's the skinny on things to know to stay true to your specific diet in a restaurant.

  • Beware for butter. Veggies, salad dress up, and other foods often have a hefty serving of butter, aware Chef Rocco. How to generate it healthy? He told tell your waiter to stop using butter in the dish.
  • Sauces can become sinful. Chef Rocco recommends choosing thin sauces, not fluffy, because the thicker typically the sauce, the more fattening it will be. When possible, he advises looking for Au Jus sauce.
  • How sweet it will be... not. Another warning: sugar might be hidden in some shocking items, such as spaghetti. Precisely why? Chef Rocco said it makes the meal look more attractive and will be offering a taste bud attraction.
  • Pay attention to menu item names. Whether it's creamy, cheesy, or crispy, it's more fattening than just a food that is barbequed, baked, or poached.
  • And job fast food restaurants, please click here to read Dr. Andrew Weil's suggestions for what to order!
