Liz Vaccariello, editor-in-chief not to mention chief content officer involving "Reader's Digest, " would definitely use the most up-to-date science on weight reduction and healthy eating to build her latest book. "The Absorb Diet" (Reader's Digest, $24. 99) takes that knowledge and lays out a 21-day diet program that doesn't neglect all major food groups and up loads of superfood-based recipes to help make losing weight effective and safe.

Vaccariello, who had a big hit some three years ago with the Flat Belly Diet variety of books that she coauthored, borrows somewhat from that series using this type of balanced eating plan which usually also features monounsaturated saturated fats, known as MUFAs. They're one of several diet's "fat releasers. "

What are often the fat-releasing nutrients?

  1. Vitamin C
  2. Calcium
  3. Dairy products
  4. Protein
  5. MUFAs
  6. PUFAs (polyunsaturated fats)
  7. Coconut oil
  8. Resveratrol
  9. Fiber
  10. Vinegar
  11. Quinoa
  12. Honey
  13. Cocoa

There can be fat-releasing activities, such like fidgeting, snacking, sleeping, erasing toxins, laughing and supportive.

Exercise is, however, a major fat releaser, but specifically it's weight training and high-intensity interval exercising (HIIT).

The 21-day meal plan is cracked into three phases:

  1. The first a number of days are an more intense "Fast Release" plan that conditional on a lot of smoothies and soups that will be full of good fats and several fiber.
  2. The "Fade Away" portion is Days 5 via 14, which increases a veggies and lowers the actual carbs. It's somewhat Med in feel.
  3. Days 15 with 21 you "Finish Strong" which has a plan that balances carbohydrates, protein and fats.

There are plenty of menu suggestions and some good recipes, most with large color photos. Some on the meals include Oatmeal For the morning Cakes, Lemony Lentil & Chard Soups, Chile-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin, and in some cases Fudgy Mocha Brownies.

Vaccariello's associate, Adrienne Farr, was one of many test subjects for dieting before its release. We spoke with her in August in the BlogHer conference in Texas, where Vaccariello and Reader's Breakdown previewed the book. Farr is featured inside the book with an 18-pound decline, but when we spoken with her, she was down almost 50 pounds and couldn't wait to know the world about the girl's success. (You can see the interview with her inside video box above. )
