This unwanted weight watcher has found a further "light" soup that tastes top notch, made so with it is 480 mg salt that can be easily tasted. That soups is Progresso's Light German Style Meatball. Unfortunately, the "light" has nothing regarding the salt content. Any food labeled "light" by law deserves one-third fewer calories and / or one-half the fat of your usual food.

Using the ones standards, this soup (of course it really is tasty--the salt ensures which! ) has just 80 calories within the 1-cup serving, and 2 h of total fat. You won't be getting lots of protein from the meatballs, however--one cup has just 3 h of protein. Adults over age 60 want to get 60 grams of protein throughout their diet daily. Without protein your whole body cannot function.

The meatballs are 5 to the ingredient list (1 is usually water), and contain pig, beef, water, eggs, not to mention textured soy protein. When you are not a soy admirer, you have nothing for you to worry about--you really cannot taste it from this soup.

Although almost all the soup manufacturers now have a relatively "light" line, the selection is restricted, and the soups continues to high in sodium (why--that certainly is the burning question we all plan to know). So, read the nutrition label cautiously.

Looking for an additional light soup? Try Progresso's Light Organic Soup (reviewed here).

All Albuquerque shops, including the Kirtland AFB commissary, bring the Progresso brand.
