This spring's flutter of conference speaking journey reminded me how important it really is to plan food choices as carefully as intending my wardrobe. Airports and conference centers could possibly be the worst places to find sensible food. Here are my 5 basics for travel without bringing home unwanted weight:

1. Look with the schedule for required lunch break, lunch or dinner support groups. You won't have the menu choice, so consider of the fact that main meal.
2. Bring a good amount of healthy snacks that travel well within your carry on bag for example food bars, protein board and batten mix, roasted soy espresso beans or almonds.
3. Google search the location around your hotel and additionally conference center for nearby restaurants and scan all the menu. Walk to a restaurant for added work out.
4. On a way to the hotel (or after by taxi) visit the local grocery to fill up on water (cheaper than on the hotel), fruit, hummus and veggies (carrot branches are pre-cut and simple to tote).
5. Choose one day to enjoy one dessert or snack that's a calorie buster. Then end there. Avoid using the actual "away from home" explanation. Sugar and fat in Los Angeles matches in New York, distance fails to alter reality.

Traveling with a scheme and healthy snacks is the ultimate way to avoid weight gain in business travel.
